Meet Dr. Kayla McCaig (Portland, TN)

Kayla McCaig, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry from Ferris State University in 2024 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Western Michigan University in 2020.

Dr. McCaig became an optometrist because she has always been fascinated by the way the eyes reflect overall health. She enjoys helping patients protect their vision while improving how they see the world. For her, the most rewarding part of optometry is making a meaningful difference in people’s lives, whether by detecting important health concerns early or helping someone experience clearer, more comfortable vision.

She enjoys caring for patients of all ages and has a special interest in the management of ocular diseases, including diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts. Dr. McCaig also finds great fulfillment in providing urgent care for eye emergencies, such as corneal foreign bodies, where she can make an immediate impact on her patients’ comfort and sight.

With a compassionate approach and dedication to comprehensive eye care, Dr. McCaig is committed to helping every patient achieve and maintain their best possible vision and ocular health.
